Dean of Nursing College Participates in a Consultative Workshop with World Health Organization

The Dean of Nursing College at Hebron University, Dr. Hussein Jabareen, participated in the consultative workshop that was organized by World Health Organization (WHO) regional office for Eastern Mediterranean in Cairo.

The workshop was held in the presence of His Excellency the Palestinian Minister of Health Dr. Jawad Awad, HE Regional Director of WHO, Dr. Ala Din Alwan, directors of departments at the WHO regional office, representatives of the governments of Norway and Palestine, and a number of academics and experts in health policy. The participation of Dr. Hussein Jabareen came after being chosen by WHO as a member of the technical advisory committee of the Palestinian National Institute of Public Health.
Participants in the workshop discussed the basic law, administrative structure, and the requirements of the establishment of the Palestinian National Institute of Public Health.

As a result, participants agreed that the Norwegian Foreign Ministry will continue its support for the establishment of the National Institute during the next three years under the supervision of the World Health Organization Office in Palestine and the Palestinian Ministry of Health, and then to convert it into an independent Palestinian governmental institution. The institute will collect community health data, conduct research studies, and make recommendations to Palestinian health decision makers based on scientific evidences.
