L2701    Comparative Legal Research Methods

This course is dedicated to scientific legal research. It focuses on the methods of legal research and directions to attain knowledge. It deals with the common approaches in conducting legal research. It guides students on how to define the research problem, questions and structuring. It then moves to the techniques of data collection and analysis as well as forms of citation and referencing and connecting results to research hypothesis. Other themes include legal drafting, report writing and the use of databases and libraries

L2702    Advance Studies in Civil Law

This course deals with the common sources of civil obligations and directions for civil law enforcement. It selects a number of modern contracts and their legal character and the means to address practical issues arising therefrom

L2703    Common Civil Contracts

This course deals with a number of special civil law contracts, namely the contract of agency, contracts of trust, deposit and loan, guarantees for the fulfillment of the contracts pertinent to movable property and mortgage

L2704    Advance Studies in Land Law

This course deals with the legal regulation of real estate ownership in Palestine. It tackles issues pertinent to property of land since the Ottoman Empire through the present day. It focuses on the rules relating to land ownership and various types of land. The course explains the formulas for owning land, official land registration, shared-land and ways to exploit land and remove common property. It lastly explores the ownership of buildings, floors and apartments

L2705    Advance Studies in Electronic Transactions

This course addresses the legal effects arising from the use of modern technology in civil and commercial transactions. It deals with the legal regulation of electronic transactions, contracts and forms of expressing will electronically. It tackles methods of evidence in electronic correspondence, electronic signature, records and modern ways of electronic payments

L2706    Advance Studies in Banking Contracts and Transactions

This course discusses the concept of banks, their origin, evolution, types and capital. It tackles the official supervision over banks. It studies a number of banking transactions, including: deposits, transfers, debit and credit cards and guarantees. It explores a number of contracts known in Islamic banking, such as murabaha, leasing and leasing that ends with ownership, contracts of salam and parallel salam, istisna and parallel istisna, mudaraba, documentary credits, letters of guarantee, commercial notes, alqabd, altawarruq, agency, contracts of curiosity, mixed contracts, mortgage, agency for investment, promise and appointment. The course finally focuses on the special characteristics of Islamic banks, relationship with other banks and financial institutions

L2707    Advance Studies in Corporate Law

This course analyses the fundamental regulation of companies. It defines the various types of companies, corporate legal foundation, establishment, management, dissolution, mergers and restructuring. The course focuses on new forms of corporation, such as one-person company. In particular, the course deals with company bankruptcy: forms, conditions and consequences

L2799    Thesis

The thesis consists of two stages. Thesis 1: each student works on a proposal for his/her research under the supervision of a professor, who provides guidance and feedback. The student passes if s/he manages to defend his/her proposal. Thesis 2: students shall work on the completion of his/her research project under the supervisor of a faculty member. Each student shall collect and analyze data, conduct a new research, prepare a dissertation and defend it
